Volunteer
This foundation would not be successful without the support of our volunteers helping to preserve this vital piece of American history! Volunteers support the foundation by helping with fundraising events, family fun days, programs and lectures, and providing tours to our many visitors.
Docents
The Foundation's Docents are local, volunteer subject experts that are passionate about our area's history and vital role in our nation's independence. They are committed to planting the seed for historical interest while focusing on SOL requirements. This exceptional group's unwavering support and dedication in representing the Foundation in the best possible way is truly priceless.
The docent’s job is an important one and crucial to the success of our goal of preserving and promoting history. Docent duties include: giving guided tours of the Historic Park and Museum; explaining the history and crucial details surrounding the Battle of Great Bridge and the history of the waterways of the region; and assisting with educational programs, events, and activities on and off-site.
