Explore Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways Museum

Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways Museum celebrates the site of the first American victory during the Revolutionary War. Visitors can tour the museum, walk the historic interpretive pathway, explore the re-creation of the causeway from 1775, and enjoy a family picnic area. At the park, guests will discover the story of William Flora, a free Black man, who ran back to take up a plank of the bridge amid a shower of musket balls to slow the British advance.
