Ribbon cutting ceremony celebration

Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways Historic Park

Open to the Public!

Join us as we welcome the historic oyster schooner and official tall ship of New Jersey the A.J. Meerwald on June 9th and 10th at the Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways Historic Park. The official ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Interpretive Trail in the Historic Park will be featured on June 9th at 12:00 pm. Tours of the ship will be given throughout both days by the crew. On land we will have fun activities for the whole family including music, food, tours of the Historic Park and more. 

Saturday Schedule

11:30 am – 12 pm Performance by Crestwood Steel Drum Group Sponsored by Hearndon Construction
12 pm –  1 pm Dedication and Grand Opening of the Interpretive Trail in the Historic Park
12 pm-1 pm Intermittent Performances by Three
1 pm – 1:30 pm VIP Tent and Cake Reception Hosted by Towne Bank featuring Terebinth
1 pm - 1:45 pm Performance by Crestwood Steel Drum Group Sponsored by Hearndon Construction
1:45 pm-2:45 pm Performance by Tompkins & Chambers Sponsored by Compton McCulley & Co.
2 pm – 7 pm VIP Tent Hosted by Scott Matheson, CFP®, Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC
3 pm – 5 pm Performance by Lewis McGehee
3 pm - 7 pm Afternoon into Evening Hosted by Chesapeake's Own Mark Cox
5 pm – 7 pm Performance by Craig Robertson and the Virginia Chorale and Three Sponsored by Compton McCulley & Co.

Sunday Schedule

1 pm-5 pm Performance by 1 Digit Short

*Food vendors will be open for the duration of both days of the celebration including Herb's Hot Dogs, Big Woody's, Keep it Poppin' and Eagle Scouts.
*Tours of the A.J. Meerwald and the Historic Park will be given for the duration of both days of the celebration.
